Education and Training Committee

Aims/Purpose: 
 

The Education and Training Committee aims to coordinate on behalf of CyFoS, activities involving educational aspects of the following three sectors:

 

• Education & Blue Careers

• Maritime Heritage

• Nautical Studies

Chairperson: Dr. Angelos Menelaou, Frederick University

Membership: The Committee will comprise of representatives of CyFoS Members.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

• The Committee will assess, review and discuss various initiatives from an educational perspective of the Blue Economy so as to: 

  • promote Blue Careers and review the participation of CyFoS at career fairs organised by schools and universities as well as the Shipping Deputy Ministry, Cyprus Shipping Chamber, CMMI and other organisations.

  • be informed and in turn inform the public about the Maritime Heritage of Cyprus.

  • be involved in promoting activities concerning a Training Vessel in Cyprus.
